The final round at the plex came to a close and through six rounds of racing Johnathon aka MR GMH showed his experience and ability to race his car to the finish line. This VY is a package with a no nonsense approach and done with Johnathon's passion for drag racing firmly in mind. The car is a full weight VY SS running an unopened 5.7 an otr, WA Pefromance in house custom tune, exhaust, 4.11 diff gears and a Hi Stall convertor. Adding 15" drag radials, Johnathon's final run was a 12.21 on a 12.20 dial in, showing great driving skill. Throw in the runner up title for the Fast Friday series for 09-10 season and this is a top effort!

Also congrats to Dyno Junkie on making the final..some nice pedalling!

WA Performance & Service Centre clients were out in force for the 5th of March Fast Friday competition at the Quit Motorplex. Showcasing a variety of performance setups and goals, all set solid times with plenty of promise of more to come.

Scruffy -12.55. WA Performance Mafless tuned VX running an Allfast Converter and 3.9 diff gears, full street trim including tyres.

GenR8R - 11.1. Customer supplied & fitted head and cam combo, WA Performance tuned auto. Full street trim on slicks.

Lasoya - 12.6. WA Performance Mafless tune, small cam, full weight, extreme clutch diff gears, drag radials VY Clubsport.

MR GMH 12.1 - WA Performance Mafless tune, bolt on. Consistent times all night and a new PB.

WA Performance Ute - After tearing things up over East, Nathan Higgins record breaking ute has found its new home at WA Performance and Service Centre The VU, running a standard chassis and IRS rear is looking like a great platform for our development work and this outing was further proof of this. Currently running a hastily put together 364 N/A engine, the ute ran a best time of 10.27@130.8mph and shows great potential for us to run in Super Sedan next year.

The latest addition to the WA Performance workshop comes in the form of a Dyno Dynamics Twin Retarder dyno. This addition bolsters the service offering from WA Performance and allows us to complete all dyno work in house.

Continuing to push his times along, Clint has run a 9.53 @ 148.6 in his latest outing at the Motorplex, dropping from his previous best of 9.76 @ 140.18mph with the 402ci/Vortech T-Trim combo..

After taking out the Fast Friday competition at the Motorplex, AGE01 was looking for something to add to his already impressive T400/WA Performance baby Cam/Higgins Heads equipped VX Clubsport. While many have gone to FI or ci’s from here, AGE01 took a different route with the installation of a very slick N2O kit.

Hitting the rollers with a NA 449 rwhp, adding NOS to the mix saw a dyno run of 572 rwhp. Next to the track to see how the new setup performed. With power dropped slightly, AGE01 was able to nail a 9.90 @ 139.96mph in his single pass for the outing.

Look forward to more results soon.

Blink and you missed it - huge congratulations to Scotty (ASSASIN) on his Fast Friday effort, kicked to the curb before the racing even began.

One who does lets his torque do the talking, the black VT GTS is a genuine credit to the amount of hard work and time Scott has thrown at it.

Cool and focused, his first run on slicks provided no challenge for Scott as he wrestled the mighty 468ci 6 speed manual down the track to reel off a 11.1 @ 128mph and 10.9 @ 130mph, gaining him an early exit from the track before the first official race of the night. As true streeter, it was only a matter of swapping the slicks for road tyres for the ride home.

Always at the front of the pack, Clinton Rushton has been in hiatus as he worked on his new setup. Previous holder of titles including Australia's fastest cam only LS1 and Western Australia's fastest 346 LS1, Clint debuted his new 402ci/Vortech T-Trim build with devastating style. There was much anticipation about the numbers that this new combo would run, and PRO 402 (formerly PRO 346) didn't disappoint with 9.76 @ 140.18 in its single run for the meet. An impressive result that currently sets PRO 402 as the fastest car to come out of the WA Performance & Service Centre workshop. Many congratulations to Clint for his efforts.

Age has run consistently throughout the series, gathering a huge number of points. He set his goal to win in the first round of the competition, it’s been a huge effort and level of commitment shown to take title. The six round series features some seasoned and dedicated racers, with top efforts from everyone in the event. AGE01 has done an awesome job with his 346 head & cam combo, combining with awesome driving talent that had him leading the way. We would like to thank the guys - Adam (Attnseekr), Dan (Commit) and John (Biante 12) who have been there throughout the series to lend a helping hand, without these guys it would be very difficult.

Adrian is now itching to try his hand at another level of drag racing, so has been attending and competing in rounds of Super Street at a couple of the big meets, so that he can finally dive into the Super Sedan class next season, One thing you can be sure of is that he will be competitive, once again CONGRATS AGE01 you are a great ambassador for our business and we are proud of your awesome achievement.

Scott has had his project on the boil for some 18 months, the result OUTSTANDING!  The build has consumed many hours bringing together what we believe the only 468 ci combination in OZ, Scott and Mitch have worked tirelessly to have this car ready for Motorvation 09 and with about 2 hours of tuning, dynoing and driving Scotty headed to MV with a huge smile and ready to rumble, with burnouts apparently being the order of the day and Scotty was in fine form.

A last minute call saw the car enter the dyno comp into the small block V8 Naturally Aspirated bracket... some ask the question why?  Well that’s easy Scotty is a man of simple needs and according to him he wanted to give Mitch the reward of having the trophy in his cabinet..

Congrats Scotty, awesome effort,  straight off the bat to get an unexpected trophy for all your hard work.

Check out the latest issue of Street Commodores (#151 - March 2009) for a Rick McDowell feature on two of WA Performance and Service Centre's 10 second utes. The article covers the WA Performance VUSS50 and Adam Watters VYSS, and while each car has broken into the 10 second quarters, both have followed different paths to get here. The VU has gone the N/A route, running a stock bottom end and utilising a number of carefully selected and tested components to achieve the results. For its 10, the VY as gone down the turbo route with a Gen T1000 being a key modification in this setup. Check out the article for all of the details.

Age 01 – Winner of Sportsmen ( Age is an outstanding competitor who eyes off what he wants and goes about getting it, running the car at both Fast Friday and the LSX Nationals was always going to be a big ask as they were on back to back nights but Age being the champ he is handled it like a pro.. Congrats on the win for Saturday and for picking up enough points to keep a lead in the FF points score.

Age01 is a 346 combo straight off the shelf he has eclipsed the expectation that this car had put on it and well and truly shone brightly, attending meeting after meeting and taking out some very solid race prepped competition.  WA Performance & Service centre is humbled that Age has decided to wear the workshop trademark on his car and believe he is a truly great ambassador for their business.

ET 11.02 @ 124mph (slicks)

Xtreme 01 – Winner of OZ Efi ( Pete came down from Geraldton for the weekend to run his ute without any of the hype or expectation that sometimes surrounds the drag racing, very quiet and unassuming the car looked and sounded great, full street trim (VE Maloo) and no fancy tyres Pete managed to blow away the competition without too much trouble at all..very pleasing indeed.   Congrats on the win Pete and extra sweet because he was out there doing it for his mate Duane, you are one outstanding gentleman  with a heart of gold.

ET 12.77 @ 111 (street tyres)

The Bunky – Runner up Street Fighter ( Mitch stepped back behind the wheel of his ute for the first time on Friday night for FF, the boss was having issues with his auto trans but never being one to make excuses he kept going and got to the final needless to say he was pretty pleased with the effort, it’s been a very draining few months and he has this never say “give up” attitude that keeps him going, great effort Mitch, great valentine’s pressie.

ET 11.10 @ 124 mph (drag radials)

Saturday 14th February also marked the return of one of the favourite racers from WA Perf “PRO 402” with Clinton Rushton making his return for the first time in 14 months he now has to find a way to harness the beast, looking forward to seeing what you have sir..

ET 10.70 @ 132 mph (slicks)

SSICK – Tom had his first outing with his new cam only package on drag radials, this young man is someone to watch, as his confidence grows he will be able to bring his times down to match, outstanding effort...congrats
